Tottenham Prepares for Critical Match Against Everton

Tottenham Hotspur faces a decisive moment as they host Everton on the final day of the season, with their Premier League survival at stake.

After suffering a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea earlier this week, Spurs find themselves in a precarious position, sitting 17th in the Premier League table—just two points above 18th-placed West Ham United, who will take on Leeds United on the same day.

Roberto De Zerbi and his team understand they need to avoid defeat to secure their top-flight status, yet the mindset from Spurs will undoubtedly be more aggressive. De Zerbi has encouraged his players to approach the match with pride and determination, seeking a strong finish against Everton. The Toffees will also be eager to bounce back following a disappointing home loss to Sunderland last week.

Here is the predicted Tottenham lineup for their crucial match against Everton.

Goalkeeper: Antonin Kinsky

Guglielmo Vicario has recently returned to full fitness after undergoing hernia surgery earlier in March. However, De Zerbi has opted to keep Antonin Kinsky in goal, who has performed admirably in Vicario’s absence. The 23-year-old is expected to start once more on Sunday.

Defence: Pedro Porro, Kevin Danso, Micky van de Ven, Destiny Udogie

In front of Kinsky, the back four that started against Chelsea is likely to remain unchanged. This means Pedro Porro, Kevin Danso, Micky van de Ven, and Destiny Udogie will all be part of the starting XI.

Van de Ven and Danso will need to keep a close watch on Beto, Everton’s leading scorer this season with nine goals. Meanwhile, Porro and Udogie continue to show solid performances as full-backs, although Djed Spence, who recently dealt with a broken jaw, may replace Udogie in the latter stages of the match.

Midfield: Joao Palhinha, Rodrigo Bentancur, Conor Gallagher

Tottenham’s midfield struggled against Chelsea, with Joao Palhinha, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Conor Gallagher failing to control the game and create sufficient chances for the forwards.

Despite calls from fans for James Maddison to start following his impactful appearances, De Zerbi is unlikely to make any changes. Maddison, freshly returned from an ACL injury, is expected to remain on the bench, although he has been acknowledged as a potential game-changer for the team.

Attack: Randal Kolo Muani, Richarlison, Mathys Tel

Randal Kolo Muani’s performance has raised concerns after a lackluster display against Chelsea, where a misplaced pass contributed to their opposition’s goal. Nevertheless, due to limited options in attack from injuries, he is likely to start again on the right wing.

Mathys Tel has been a consistent presence on the left since Xavi Simons’ ACL injury and will need to step up on this critical day to help secure Tottenham’s spot in the top flight. Leading the line for Spurs will be Richarlison, who added to his tally with a consolation goal against Chelsea, bringing his total to 12 goals this season.

Even if Dominic Solanke recovers from a hamstring injury in time, he is expected to start the match on the bench.
