Manchester United Seeks Commercial Expansion with New Sponsorship Deals
Manchester United’s finances are set to receive a boost from competing among Europe’s elite again, but attention has now turned to commercial growth.
United’s hierarchy have been patient in recent months, holding out for deals that reflect the club’s global value rather than rushing into agreements.
That approach now looks set to pay off.
United will be looking to bring in more partners now that they have secured Champions League football.
Betway Set to Partner with Manchester United
Manchester United are in advanced negotiations with Betway over a new training kit sponsorship deal starting next season, as reported by The Athletic.
If finalised, the betting company’s logo will appear on the training gear worn at Carrington and in official club imagery.
The agreement is expected to be a multi-year deal and would bring an end to a lengthy search for a new partner following the expiration of their previous arrangement with Tezos in June 2025.
That earlier deal was worth around £24 million per year, but United deliberately chose not to rush into a replacement, even going an entire season without a training kit sponsor.
Sources suggest the proposed Betway partnership could exceed £18 million annually, placing it among the most valuable deals of its kind in football.
The timing is also significant given the wider landscape in English football.
With Premier League clubs set to phase out gambling sponsors from matchday shirts, companies in that sector are increasingly turning to alternative branding opportunities such as training kits.
United’s commercial activity has remained strong in other areas.
The club recently extended its long-standing partnership with Canon Medical Systems, continuing a relationship that has supported player care for over a decade.
They also renewed ties with SportsBreaks, while securing a new agreement with The Coca-Cola Company as their official soft drinks partner in the UK and Europe.
Now, with a lucrative new training kit sponsor on the horizon, United are once again showing their ability to maximise commercial opportunities.
As preparations ramp up for next season, the club’s strategy off the pitch is beginning to match the ambition shown on it.
