Aston Villa on loan from PSG
Since arriving at Aston Villa on loan from PSG during the January transfer window, he has scored seven goals in his eight outings. Since the Spaniard’s debut in February, no player in Europe’s big five leagues has scored more goals across all competitions other than Ousmane Dembele (eight).

Marco Asensio has the opportunity to send home his parent team in the quarter finals of the Champions League as he is currently on a loan from PSG.
After going on loan from Parc des Princes to Villa Park in February, the 29-year-old can play for his parent club against Aston Villa in the Champions League quarter finals next month.
According to UEFA regulations, clubs are not allowed to have “any influence whatsoever over the players that another club may (or may not) field in a match”; hence, Asensio could ruin PSG’s hopes of winning the Champions League.
Asensio at Press Conference
Asensio also became the first substitute to score a brace for an English team in a Champions League knockout game since Georginio Wijnaldum for Liverpool against Barcelona in May 2019. He was only the fourth player to do it.
“Very happy for the victory. I’m very happy for the team and the fans,” Asensio said.
“Every match the atmosphere is top. We want more. Now we have a little break and to think about the upcoming objectives.”
“I like to score there [Holte End]. We’re adapting to the new players, but we’re in the right way.
“Very comfortable. Very happy with my team-mates, the fans and the city. In one or two weeks we have time to think about this [PSG] game.”
