Manchester United‘s veteran midfielder has struggled to stay fit at Old Trafford. He has been sidelined since late January due to another injury and has missed three games.

This season, however, he has spent less time on the bench than in any previous season since his transfer from Chelsea. Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has reported that the England international is nearing a comeback.

At a press conference before the match against Crystal Palace, Carrick stated, “Mason is getting closer. He’s on the grass and looking to join training soon. We’ve had to be patient, but he’s a skilled player, and we want to ensure he’s ready. The good news is he’s almost back.”

After the game against Crystal Palace this Sunday, Manchester United will face Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and Bournemouth before the international break.

It may be wise for Mount to take it easy during these matches to prevent further injuries, which have been his main concern.

When fit, Mount has performed well as an attacking midfielder, and Carrick is eager to see more of him in the coming months; the priority is to get him healthy first.
