Inter Miami will visit the White House next week to celebrate their MLS Cup victory.
All eyes are on Lionel Messi and President Trump, but Messi’s attendance is still uncertain. This event highlights the team’s success just before they return to league action.

Messi’s attendance uncertain for Washington ceremony
The focus is now on whether Lionel Messi will travel with the team to Washington for the event.
Messi’s attendance has not been confirmed, even though the invitation includes the entire Inter Miami roster, according to The Athletic.
“A representative of Messi did not respond when asked about his plans, and Inter Miami declined to comment,” the report states.
Messi’s attendance at the White House visit is still not confirmed, making his participation unclear as preparations move forward.
He received an invitation previously but did not attend the ceremony for the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Inter Miami continues tradition with White House visit
White House visits for championship teams are a long-standing tradition in American sports, although MLS teams have been less frequent in recent years.
Inter Miami will be the first MLS team to visit President Trump during his tenure.
The March 5 visit aligns them with past MLS champions, including Columbus Crew in 2024.
D.C. United was the first MLS team to visit in 1998, and the LA Galaxy’s 2012 visit included current Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham.
If Messi attends, it would be a notable moment in the club’s brief history, as he has never visited the White House before.
