Mamelodi Sundowns’ head coach, Miguel Cardoso, has emphasized the team’s determination as they prepare for the second leg of their Caf Champions League match against ASFAR in Morocco. Despite securing a 1-0 victory in the first leg at Loftus Versveld, Cardoso indicated that they will not be taking their lead for granted as they travel to Rabat on Sunday.

Cardoso stated that the team is not only focused on protecting their one-goal advantage but also on looking to increase their lead. “We will fight to make the one goal advantage enough. A second goal would’ve been more fair for the level we showed in the first leg, but we are going to take the right energy and approach the second leg seriously,” he remarked.

The match in Morocco is poised to be a challenging encounter, particularly as it has been sold out for nearly ten days. Cardoso acknowledged that the local fans will provide a significant atmosphere, making it crucial for Sundowns to be fully prepared for a tough battle ahead.

Aubrey Modiba’s decisive free-kick secured their first-leg win against Alexandre Santos’ team, setting the stage for what is anticipated to be a highly competitive second leg in North Africa.
