The Netherlands national team is facing a setback ahead of their crucial World Cup match against Sweden. Central midfielder Quinten Timber, 25, has been ruled out due to a mild concussion suffered during a training session.
According to an announcement via the team’s official account on social media platform X, Timber experienced the concussion following a collision with a teammate. The coaching staff has prioritized his health and decided to rest him for the upcoming match.
In the Netherlands’ opening World Cup game against Japan, Timber made an appearance late in the match, coming off the bench in the 70th minute to replace Tijjani Reijnders, although he did not contribute any goals.
