Villarreal CF has announced that 37-year-old central midfielder Dani Parejo will leave the club at the end of the current season. The Spanish club confirmed this news on their official X page, highlighting Parejo’s loyalty and contributions to the team over the years.
It has been reported that both Parejo and Villarreal have mutually agreed not to renew his contract, resulting in his departure as a free agent. Parejo first joined the “Yellow Submarine” in 2020 from Valencia for €2.25 million and has since made 269 appearances, scoring 16 goals and providing 36 assists.
During his tenure at Villarreal, Parejo enjoyed significant success, including lifting the Europa League trophy and reaching the Champions League semi-finals in the 2021/22 season. His current market value stands at approximately €1.2 million, as estimated by Transfermarkt.
