Robin Le Normand added a fourth goal for Atletico in the 22nd minute, but Pedro Porro pulled one back for Spurs in the 26th minute. At half-time, Spurs were trailing 4-1.
Alvarez scored again for Atletico in the 55th minute, while Dominic Solanke got another goal for Spurs in the 76th minute. The match ended with Tottenham losing 5-2 away from home.
