Tottenham Eyes Premier League Talent Amid Injury List

Xavi Simons has become the latest long-term casualty for Tottenham Hotspur. The Dutchman ruptured his ACL in his team’s 1-0 success over Wolves at Molineux on Saturday, joining the likes of Wilson Odobert and Mohammed Kudus in the infirmary.

James Maddison, who suffered an ACL injury in August 2025, is nearing a return after a long six-month rehabilitation process. He has been included in the Spurs squad in the last two games against Brighton and Wolves, but the medical department has yet to clear the creative midfielder for action.

As the season approaches its end with just four matches remaining, Roberto De Zerbi faces a crisis in his squad marked by injuries and potential summer exits. Alongside Simons, Dominic Solanke also sustained a muscle injury against Wolves. Whether Solanke can return this season remains uncertain, while Randal Kolo Muani is set to depart as his loan from PSG concludes.

In light of these challenges in the attacking department, Tottenham appears to have rekindled their interest in a Premier League winger.

Tottenham Plans €25m Bid for Manchester City Winger Savinho

Spurs notably attempted to sign Manchester City winger Savinho during the closing stages of the last summer transfer window. Savinho had shown enthusiasm for a move to Hotspur Way after reaching an agreement on personal terms with Tottenham. However, the transfer did not go through due to Pep Guardiola’s late intervention, leading the Brazilian international to sign a contract extension at the Etihad Stadium.

This season, Savinho has struggled for consistent playing time under Guardiola, leading to speculation about a potential exit in the upcoming transfer window. Reports from Spanish outlet Fichajes state that Spurs are planning to make a €25m offer for the skilled winger.

Savinho’s chances of representing Brazil in this summer’s World Cup have diminished due to his limited game time with the Sky Blues. The 22-year-old has made only 20 Premier League appearances, registering two assists.

The South American winger is contemplating a change of scenery to rejuvenate his career. Reports indicate that Manchester City is aware of Savinho’s dissatisfaction and are not dismissing the possibility of his departure. His representatives feel it may be time for him to seek a new environment where he can realize his potential.

Savinho Would Strengthen Tottenham’s Attack

Tottenham could benefit from a dynamic and elusive attacker like Savinho next season. His pace, unpredictability, and dribbling skills could bring a fresh energy to a Spurs offense that has at times struggled for incisiveness. Capable of playing both on the flanks and centrally, his Premier League experience might make him a solid acquisition.

However, the Lilywhites might find it challenging to attract the caliber of player they usually pursue if they end up in the Championship next season. To genuinely have a shot at signing Savinho, they must ensure they maintain their top-flight status.
