Tottenham Hotspur Aims to Sign Juventus Left Back Andrea Cambiaso This Summer

Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly looking to sign Andrea Cambiaso, the left back from Juventus, at the end of the current season. The 26-year-old defender has put in exceptional performances for the Italian club and has been recognized as a “very good” player. Cambiaso is currently at the peak of his career, and his addition could create an immediate impact in the Premier League if he joins the North London side.

Spurs Eyeing Andrea Cambiaso as a Key Addition

It is well known that Tottenham needs to enhance their left-back position. The club has recently been linked with talents such as Andrew Robertson but specifically needs to replace Ben Davies and find an upgrade over Destiny Udogie.

Cambiaso may be the ideal solution. With reliable performances in Italy’s top league, multiple clubs are showing interest in him. A report from Tutto Juve states that Tottenham has ‘expressed interest’ in signing the player.

Cambiaso Seen as a Stellar Signing Opportunity

The estimated cost for Cambiaso is around £43 million this summer. However, this asking price could decrease if Juventus fails to secure Champions League qualification for the next season. Tottenham has the financial strength to meet the £43 million asking price, and it remains to be seen if they can secure his signature amidst competition.

As a dependable defender, Cambiaso would not only strengthen their backline but also contribute offensively. He is capable of playing as a wing-back or a defensive winger, and he has accrued 3 goals and 4 assists this season.

The opportunity to transition to the Premier League could be appealing for the Italian international. With his skill set, he has the potential to excel in England and could become a pivotal player for Tottenham. However, the North London club needs to ensure their Premier League safety to attract top talent like Cambiaso, as they currently sit 17th in the league table, just one point above the relegation zone.
