Maxence Lacroix Linked with Potential Move from Crystal Palace

Multiple Premier League clubs are showing interest in Maxence Lacroix, a 26-year-old French International defender, who may move away from Crystal Palace at the end of the season. Tottenham Hotspur is particularly keen, having monitored his performances closely, as they seek to bolster their defense.

Maxence Lacroix to Replace Romero?

Christian Romero’s potential departure from Tottenham has raised the need for a replacement, making Lacroix a sensible target. As a well-adjusted player in the Premier League, his consistent high-level performances make him an attractive option for the club.

Selected for the upcoming World Cup with the French national team, Lacroix brings not only defensive skills but also impressive recovery pace, positioning him as an ideal partner for Micky van de Ven. The French player once claimed confidence in potentially outperforming the Tottenham defender in a sprint.

“Micky is a really good talent and player,” said Lacroix.

“100 metres? It’s a long race. He’s quick, but I think I can beat him.”

Reports suggest that Lacroix could command a fee of around £50 million, a figure that is well within Tottenham’s financial reach. Additionally, the funds generated from Romero’s potential exit could facilitate this transfer.

It remains unclear whether the central defender will be open to joining Tottenham, especially as they face relegation struggles this season. Nonetheless, the club boasts an ambitious project with quality players and may rebound strongly next season under newly appointed manager Roberto De Zerbi.

Spurs Could Use Lacroix

Tottenham’s defensive performance has been subpar, highlighting the need for improvement in that area. Adding Lacroix to the squad could significantly strengthen their backline.

Settled in England, Lacroix could make an immediate impact at Tottenham should he make the move. As interest grows, it will be crucial to see if Tottenham can outmaneuver rival Premier League clubs and secure his services.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace has no intentions of selling Lacroix, as they aim to offer him a new contract.
