Happy 65th birthday to seven-time NBA All-Star and three-time champion, James Worthy!
Worthy was the first pick in the 1982 NBA Draft, chosen by the Los Angeles Lakers after his time at North Carolina. He played his entire career with the Lakers, being part of the iconic teams alongside Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, winning titles in 1984-85, 1986-87, and 1987-88.
His standout performance was in the 1987-88 Finals against the Detroit Pistons, where he averaged 22.0 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, scoring 36 points in a crucial Game 7, which earned him the Finals MVP award.
Worthy retired after the 1993-94 season and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003.
