Barcelona have reportedly reached a personal agreement with Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo and are now ready to submit an official offer to RB Leipzig.
The news was conveyed by European transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on Thursday.
“Barcelona and Olmo have agreed personal terms with a six-year contract until the summer of 2030,” Romano wrote on his social media account.
Romano also claimed that Barcelona will submit an offer of 55 million euros (Rp966 billion) plus a potential bonus of 7 million euros (around Rp122 billion).
Olmo himself is a graduate of Barcelona’s “La Masia” academy and is reportedly keen to return to defend his former club.
He has not yet joined the Leipzig squad for pre-season after leading the Spanish National Team to victory at Euro 2024. However, it is not yet certain whether the Bundesliga club is willing to accept Barcelona’s new offer.
Dani Olmo himself is still under contract with RB Leipzig until 2027. Since being brought in from Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb in 2020, Olmo has appeared 148 times and scored 29 goals in all competitions.
Olmo has also successfully presented two DFB Pokal trophies and one DFB Super Cup for the Bundesliga club.
Barcelona themselves have included the 26-year-old midfielder as their priority target after Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao.
However, Williams is reportedly going to stay in Bilbao for at least another year before deciding his future.
