Borussia Dortmund has secured a Champions League spot for the upcoming season, finishing second in the Bundesliga for the fifth time in a decade.

While Bayern Munich continues to dominate the league with a 16-point lead this season, Dortmund remains a consistent runner-up, finishing eight points ahead of third-placed RB Leipzig.

As they set their sights on next year’s campaign, the German club is actively considering its transfer strategies and has dismissed rumors of a potential reunion with Jadon Sancho.

Speculation surrounding the Manchester United winger and a return to Dortmund has been ongoing since his unsuccessful move to Old Trafford in 2021.

Since then, Sancho returned to Dortmund on loan for part of the 2023/24 season after experiencing a public fallout with former manager Erik ten Hag.

Jadon Sancho Faces Uncertain Future with End of Manchester United Contract

With repeated loan spells to Chelsea and Aston Villa, this summer marks the end of Sancho’s contract with United, making him a free agent. This situation is likely to attract interest from various clubs.

However, according to Sports Bild, Dortmund has confirmed they will not pursue Sancho for a third stint, as the club has yet to receive any inquiries from the player or his representatives.

Dortmund’s sporting director, Lars Ricken, expressed surprise at the reports suggesting Sancho wishes to return, as the club has not had any direct contact with him or his team.

Even if there were interest, there are doubts within the Bundesliga side regarding Sancho’s ability to regain his previous form, as he struggled at both Chelsea and Villa, despite being the first player to feature in three consecutive European finals.

Sancho is believed to have other options on the table, including clubs in the Turkish Super Lig, as teams like Fenerbahce, Besiktas, and Galatasaray remain interested, having shown interest last summer as well.
