Ever since Rodri got injured in September, Manchester City’s campaign has been lackluster in every aspect. The injuries have been galore but the one that hurt City the most is Rodri’s ACL injury which meant his absence till the next season.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! But new videos have surfaced on social media showing that Rodri has returned to training and completed a lone training session at the Etihad Stadium. This video has raised the fans’ excitement as they were hoping that Rodri returns as soon as possible.
Man City’s Downfall
This Man City’s downfall has been the one for the history books as Pep Guardiola’s side have struggled to maintain their standards after the injury to Rodri. He is the glue to City’s attack and defence and has been missed sorely this season.

Manchester City are already out of contention for the Premier League and have crashed out of the Carabao Cup and the Champions League. It all started after Rodri’s injury in September against Arsenal and ever since then Guardiola has not been able to find any replacement for the spaniard.
Last year, Rodri played for Manchester City till the end of the season in every competition and then without a break went for the Euros for Spain, where also he played every match till the end as Spain won the title.
The next season started again after a short break after the Euros, this is probably why Rodri, the current Ballon D’or holder, got injured with an ACL. He was overplayed and did not get much time to recover from the long season.
Pep Guardiola’s Statements
For the first time since Rodri suffered a major knee injury against Arsenal in September, Guardiola feels the 28-year-old could feature before the end of the campaign, with the Fifa Club World Cup to follow in June.
“The fans must know they are not the only ones who are excited,” said the City boss. “It’s been five months or six months.

“But [it’s] one step at a time. We don’t have to make stupid decisions [for him] to come weeks earlier. He’s not close to coming back, but he’s touching the ball and is in the locker room.“
He feels confident and happy.
“I could not expect [him to return] before the end of the season, not even for the [Club] World Cup, but maybe it’s going to happen.”
