Manchester United Eyes Midfield Reinforcements as Liverpool Pursues Top Talent

Manchester United are expected to target midfield reinforcements this summer as the club prepares for another rebuild under Michael Carrick.

Casemiro already confirmed earlier this season that he will leave Manchester United at the end of his contract.

The 34-year-old played his final game for the club in a 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest.

United have also previously been linked with highly-rated Hertha Berlin midfielder Kennet Eichhorn.

Earlier this year, reports even claimed Bayern Munich had entered the race for the teenager amid growing interest from across Europe.

Now, Liverpool appear to be making their move.

According to Florian Plettenberg via X, Liverpool have entered the race ‘very concretely’ for the 16-year-old midfielder.

The report states that concrete talks have already taken place regarding Eichhorn’s future.

It is also claimed the teenager is planning to leave Hertha BSC this summer.

Kennet Eichhorn reportedly has a release clause worth around €10-12 million despite still only being 16 years old.

Manchester United have increasingly focused on signing elite young talents before they fully break into senior football.

Eichhorn is viewed as one of Germany’s brightest midfield prospects.

The teenager has already attracted strong interest from several major European clubs.

Liverpool now seem determined to move ahead in the race.

Arne Slot’s side have also invested heavily in youth recruitment as they continue planning for the future.

Manchester United supporters will likely keep a close eye on developments following Casemiro’s confirmed departure.

Midfield reinforcements remain expected this summer.

No final decision has yet been made regarding Eichhorn’s future.

However, Liverpool’s latest move could place them firmly ahead in the battle for one of Germany’s standout teenage talents.
