The NBA continues to enhance All-Star Weekend with fresh ideas.
This year featured former NBA player Tacko Fall teaming up with influencers for the Celebrity All-Star Game, and ESPN insider Shams Charania also got a chance to participate.
Interestingly, Charania played for Giannis Antetokounmpo’s team, despite having reported on the possibility of Antetokounmpo being traded for months.
Charania faced criticism online for his statements about Antetokounmpo, especially after Antetokounmpo decided to remain with the Milwaukee Bucks. Antetokounmpo took the opportunity to poke fun at him as well.
Giannis Antetokounmpo comments on Shams Charania’s performance
Before the game, former NBA player Richard Jefferson asked Antetokounmpo about his team, suggesting it was overly strong. Antetokounmpo disagreed.
“Your team is not fair!” Jefferson said, according to ClutchPoints.
“You know why it’s not fair?” Antetokounmpo responded. “’Cause we have Shams on my team. He cannot hoop! But everybody else can.”
In the end, Charania’s performance supported Antetokounmpo’s claim. He finished with zero points, missing all four attempts and struggling with several shots from long range. He also recorded three turnovers.
Fans are sure to remind Charania of his performance for a long time.
