Casemiro Set to Depart Manchester United as Inter Miami Pursues Agreement
Manchester United is gearing up for a summer filled with significant squad changes. The club plans to reshape its team ahead of the new season, focusing on player departures as much as incoming transfers.
One player confirmed to leave at the season’s end is Casemiro. The Brazilian midfielder shared an emotional farewell after United’s dramatic 3-2 win against Nottingham Forest in their final home match.
“There are places we pass through in life… and there are places that become part of who we are.
Manchester will forever be my home.
To the city, the club, and every supporter, my sincerest thank you. These past four years have been unforgettable, filled with moments my family and I will carry with us for the rest of our lives. There simply aren’t enough words to describe the happiness and warmth we’ve felt here.
Thank you for every cheer, every memory, and for making us feel at home from the very first day.
Forever a Red Devil [followed with a red heart emoji]”
Reports indicate that Casemiro’s next move may soon be solidified, with Inter Miami entering negotiations for a free transfer set for after his Manchester United contract expires on June 30. The MLS team appears to be Casemiro’s preferred destination, as he and his family are keen on relocating to Miami.
The opportunity to play alongside Lionel Messi is also reportedly influencing his decision, with Casemiro willing to adjust his salary demands to facilitate the move.
However, several challenges remain before the transfer can be finalized. According to Sky Sports, a key issue involves the LA Galaxy, who currently own Casemiro’s MLS discovery rights. This means Inter Miami must negotiate a deal with them before proceeding.
Additionally, interest from Saudi Arabian clubs complicates matters, as one unnamed team is closely monitoring the situation should the discovery rights issue hinder Casemiro’s U.S. move.
Despite these obstacles, progress is reportedly being made. Earlier this year, Inter Miami acquired another international roster slot from the New England Revolution, enhancing their prospects of signing the former United star.
Since joining from Real Madrid in 2022, Casemiro has emerged as a seasoned leader in the United locker room, playing a pivotal role during his early tenure with the club.
