Luka Doncic delivered an outstanding performance as the Los Angeles Lakers celebrated a significant victory in March. He scored 60 points during the Lakers’ 134-126 win against the Miami Heat.

Alongside his 60 points, Doncic contributed seven rebounds, three assists, and five steals, showcasing his versatility for the team.

This 60-point game marked a new season high for Doncic, surpassing his previous top score of 51 on March 12. It also became his third career game with over 60 points, following performances of 60 on December 27, 2022, and his record of 73 on January 26, 2024.

Luka Doncic Makes Franchise History

Doncic’s historic night extended beyond his scoring. He set a new franchise record for the most three-pointers made in a single season, hitting nine out of 17 attempts against the Heat.

At 27 years old, Doncic now has a three-point shooting percentage of 37.0 for the season, which is above his career average of 35.3% and slightly higher than the 36.8% he achieved last season with the Dallas Mavericks and after joining the Lakers in February.

Luka Doncic Stands Strong in the MVP Race

A six-time All-Star and five-time All-NBA first-team selection, Doncic’s remarkable season and recent performances have propelled the Lakers to the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference, with the team winning eight consecutive games.

Doncic’s numbers support his MVP candidacy, as he averages 33.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 8.4 assists over 58 games while shooting 47.7% from the field.
