David Beckham has strong ties to Manchester United, having risen through the club’s academy to become one of its most celebrated players.

He joined Manchester United after being scouted by Sir Alex Ferguson while at Tottenham Hotspur, making a mark that is well-known today.

The London native made 394 appearances for the senior team before moving to Real Madrid in 2003.

During his time at United, Beckham scored 85 goals and provided 122 assists.

Even after leaving Old Trafford, Beckham has maintained a deep connection with the club, now co-owning Inter Miami.

Inter Miami is reportedly interested in signing Casemiro, and Fabrizio Romano has mentioned that Beckham’s team has made an initial offer for the Brazilian player.

Apart from Casemiro, Beckham is also keeping an eye on his former teammate Michael Carrick, who took over from Ruben Amorim on an interim basis in January 2026. There are discussions about making him the permanent manager due to his successful tenure so far.

Beckham believes Carrick is a suitable candidate for the role.

In a talkSPORT interview, he commented, “I must admit, the last few months have been a lot more comfortable than the last 10 years.”

He praised Carrick’s calm demeanor, saying, “There’s an elegance in the way he is, whether it’s the way he celebrates or reacts.”

Beckham also highlighted Carrick’s ability to unify the team as a key reason he deserves the job permanently.

“All of those things are important in a manager. The way he brings the team together has been incredible. As a United fan, it’s exactly what we needed,” Beckham added.

Currently, Carrick’s record is impressive, having lost only one game during his second stint— a 2-1 loss against Newcastle — and he has led the team to third place in the Premier League with seven matches remaining.

The main goal for Carrick is straightforward: secure a Champions League spot for the next season to cement his legacy.

It remains to be seen if Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS team will make Carrick the permanent manager, but he has certainly earned Beckham’s support.
