Tottenham Spurs Target Manchester City‘s Savinho Amid Injury Crisis

Xavi Simons has become the latest casualty for Tottenham Hotspur, suffering a ruptured ACL during his team’s 1-0 victory over Wolves at Molineux on Saturday. He joins teammates Wilson Odobert and Mohammed Kudus on the injury list.

James Maddison, who also endured an ACL injury in August 2025, is nearing a return after a rigorous six-month rehabilitation. He has been included in the Spurs squad for the last two matches against Brighton and Wolves, though the medical team has yet to give him the go-ahead to play.

With only four matches remaining, Roberto De Zerbi faces a mounting crisis due to injury troubles and possible summer departures. In addition to Simons, Dominic Solanke also picked up a muscle injury against Wolves. It is uncertain whether Solanke will return this season, and Randal Kolo Muani is expected to leave once his loan from PSG concludes.

Amid these challenges in the attacking line, Tottenham appears to have rekindled their interest in a Premier League winger.

Tottenham Eye €25m Bid for Manchester City Winger Savinho

Spurs had previously sought to acquire Manchester City winger Savinho during the last summer transfer window, with the player expressing interest in joining Tottenham after agreeing to personal terms. However, Pep Guardiola’s intervention halted the deal, leading Savinho to extend his contract at the Etihad Stadium.

This season, Savinho has struggled for consistent playing time under Guardiola, leading to speculation about a potential move in the upcoming transfer window. According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Tottenham plans to make a €25 million offer for the skilled winger.

Lacking regular minutes has impacted Savinho’s chances of being selected for Brazil in this summer’s World Cup. The 22-year-old has made only 20 Premier League appearances, registering two assists.

Considering a change of scenery to rejuvenate his career, Savinho’s representatives feel that now is the right time for him to leave Manchester City to find a more suitable environment where he can reach his full potential.

Savinho Could Be a Valuable Addition for Tottenham

Tottenham requires a direct and dynamic attacker like Savinho for the upcoming season. His speed, unpredictability, and dribbling skills could inject vigor into a Spurs attack that has struggled recently. Capable of playing on the wings and in central positions, Savinho’s Premier League experience could prove beneficial for the team.

However, Tottenham may find it challenging to attract the type of player they typically seek if they are relegated to the Championship next season. Hence, maintaining their top-flight status is crucial for their chances of signing Savinho.
