Manchester United Defender Patrick Dorgu’s Brother Joins Botev Plovdiv
Manchester United defender Patrick Dorgu has enjoyed an encouraging rise since arriving at Old Trafford during the January 2025 transfer window.
Originally known as a full-back and wing-back, Dorgu was recently moved into a more advanced left-wing role under interim boss Michael Carrick.
He immediately impressed, scoring in back-to-back starts before suffering an injury setback.
This season, the Denmark international has scored three times and provided three assists in 24 Premier League matches.
The 21-year-old defender has only recently returned to action.
Now, another member of the Dorgu family has officially secured a move of his own.
A European top-flight club confirmed the signing on Instagram, announcing the arrival of Patrick Dorgu’s younger brother, Benjamin Ifenna Dorgu.
The 19-year-old forward, commonly known as Ifenna Dorgu, has joined Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv after a successful trial period with the club.
According to the announcement, Dorgu has signed a long-term contract after impressing club officials during his time training with the first team.

Before that, he also spent time within Genoa’s youth setup in Italy.
Botev Plovdiv currently compete in the Bulgarian top flight and are one of the more historic clubs in the country.
The move represents a major opportunity for the younger Dorgu to continue his development at senior level.
Patrick Dorgu himself has quickly become a recognised name among Manchester United supporters, following his versatility and strong attacking displays under Carrick.
He joined the club in January of 2025 for a fee that could rise to £30 million.
His recent switch further forward has added another dimension to his game.
The United defender has shown he can contribute goals as well as defensive stability.
Now, attention will naturally turn towards whether his younger brother can also begin making a name for himself in European football following this latest transfer.
