Nkosingiphile Ngcobo believes this season is one of the best in recent years for the Kaizer Chiefs. Ahead of their upcoming match against AmaZulu, the Amakhosi midfielder acknowledged the team’s lack of silverware, yet he still views the current campaign positively.
“I consider this to be a good season, not great because at Kaizer Chiefs the expectations are higher, but after the last few years I think we turned a corner and are heading in the right direction,” Ngcobo stated. He expressed hopes for using the lessons learned this season to improve in the next campaign.
As the team heads into their match in Durban, they have already secured third place in the league, a notable achievement for Ngcobo and the club. “It’s a great feeling to know that we are going to play in CAF competition again next season. It is something we wanted to achieve as a team, and we are happy to have done it with two games to spare,” he shared.
AmaZulu is expected to provide a formidable challenge as they vie for the fourth spot, while Chiefs aim to conclude the season on a high note. Ngcobo acknowledged the potential threat from AmaZulu, coached by former Chiefs player Arthur Zwane. “We know how dangerous AmaZulu can be with coach Arthur Zwane so we are expecting a tough match and we are ready to fight for the win,” he added. The match is set to kick off at 3 PM.
