Chelsea Appoints Xabi Alonso as New Manager
Chelsea announced the appointment of Xabi Alonso last Sunday, with the former player signing a four-year contract to take charge starting next season.
The club parted ways with Liam Rosenior last month, and recent form has raised concerns among fans and analysts. Chelsea has managed to win only two of their last 12 matches.
With Chelsea missing out on next season’s Champions League, Alonso’s arrival marks a significant achievement for BlueCo. Nevertheless, the possibility of European qualification remains open.
Other candidates, including Marco Silva, Andoni Iraola, and Filipe Luis, were considered for the role. However, Micah Richards believes Chelsea has made the right choice by selecting Alonso.
