The Benin Football Federation has announced the suspension of an international player from all national team activities due to observed breaches of discipline. This decision follows a thorough investigation into allegations against the player.
According to the statement released by the Federation, disciplinary proceedings revealed multiple violations. These include failures to adhere to the instructions of the coaching staff, issues with the internal organization of the squad, and non-compliance with the obligations expected of all Beninese international players.
The Federation has imposed a six-month fixed suspension on the player, in addition to a further six-month suspended suspension. “After reviewing all the evidence in the case, it was decided to impose on Mr Olivier Verdon a six (06)-month fixed suspension from Benin’s national teams, accompanied by an additional six (06)-month suspended suspension,” the statement read.
During the duration of the fixed suspension, the player will not be eligible for selection or participation in any activities related to the national teams of Benin.
