According to L’Equipe, Florencia Peña, a host on Luzu TV, erroneously announced the death of Lionel Messi’s father, Jorge. This misinformation was reportedly provided to her through an earpiece by her production team during the live airing of “El Show del Verano.”
Upon realizing the news was false, Peña issued a public apology to Messi’s family and personally contacted his mother, Celia Cuccittini, to express her regret, which was reportedly accepted. However, following the incident, Peña faced serious repercussions and was dismissed from her position.
