
Arsenal might not be having the best form in the Premier League but they have battered PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League Round of 16 matchup. Arteta’s men put 7 past the PSV defence and could have scored more.

Arsenal’s defence looked on another level as they have escalated their game in attacking aspect also as both the full-backs scored goals in the form of Jurien Timber and the substitute Riccardo Calafiori.
Although PSV Eindhoven saw better possession stats than Arsenal but were not able to convert them into shots on goal. On the other hand, Arsenal converted their 8 shots on goal into 7 goals.
With 6 different goal-scorers, Arsenal gave an all-round performance with a dominant team display. Martin Ødegaard scored 2 goals and was the pick of the team as he was named Man of the Match.
Arsenal’s Goals Galore
Arsenal took control after Jurrien Timber scored Arsenal’s opener in the 18th minute.
Ethan Nwaneri doubled Arsenal’s lead just three minutes later when Myles Lewis-Skelly cleverly cut the ball back for the 17-year-old to powerfully score past Walter Benitez.
Lewis-Skelly, who had already been booked, was fortunate to stay on the pitch shortly after when he fouled Ledezma, and Mikel Arteta replaced him with Riccardo Calafiori with 10 minutes of the first half left.
Mikel Merino added a third goal, and Noa Lang gave PSV a response from the penalty spot after Thomas Partey had fouled Luuk De Jong.
After Benitez pushed a cross out into the box, Martin Odegaard scored from close range to ensure that there would be no PSV comeback. Arsenal proceeded to attack with ease as soon as the second half began.

After a minute, substitute Calafiori and Leandro Trossard worked well together to score Arsenal‘s fifth goal when Trossard chipped the ball over Benitez from close range.
With a superb solo effort, Odegaard scored his second goal, and Calafiori added a late goal to give Arsenal their highest ever goal tally in a Champions League away victory.
Arsenal’s way ahead
Arsenal will be looking at the Madrid Derby next weekend at the Wanda Metropolitano as well as they themselves have already booked their berth in the Champions League quarter-finals. Arsenal will be facing either Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid in the next round and will look to get ready for that blockbuster clash as well.
