The Portuguese Eagles are determined to retain their head coach, José Mourinho, amidst interest from Real Madrid.
According to DiarioSport, the management at Benfica has expressed their commitment to keeping Mourinho by offering him a new, more lucrative contract. This proposal highlights the club’s recognition of the significant impact Mourinho has had since taking the helm in September 2025.
Benfica’s president, Rui Costa, personally approached Mourinho to discuss the new agreement, emphasizing the club’s desire to secure the legendary manager’s services. This season, Mourinho has overseen 44 matches for Benfica, achieving 26 wins, 10 draws, and 8 losses. His contract with the club is set to last until the summer of 2027.
