Benjamin Nygren Dominates Celtic’s Player of the Year Awards

On Sunday evening, Celtic hosted their annual Player of the Year awards for the past season.

It’s safe to say, it was a productive evening for Benjamin Nygren. The Sweden international won a hat-trick of awards: The Men’s Player of the Year, The Players’ Player of the Year, and the top goalscorer award.

Some well-deserved recognition came with the first two awards, along with the impressive fact that he was the team’s top goalscorer from a midfield position. His 15 goals in the Scottish Premiership surpassed any other player on the team by five. There would be no title race without his contributions, that is for sure.

In addition to those 15 goals, he has also provided five assists and created eight big chances. This demonstrates that he is a very well-rounded player. He will be hoping his excellent form will secure him a place in Sweden’s World Cup squad. He contributed assists in both their playoff semi-final win against Ukraine and the playoff final win over Poland, highlighting his importance to the team.

Let’s hope for another couple of goals to help the Hoops get over the line and secure a fifth consecutive league title.
