Bernard Parker has expressed skepticism regarding the concerns raised by Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso following their recent match. Parker suggests that Cardoso’s complaints about the team’s scheduling stem from their defeat rather than genuine issues with fatigue.
In a match held at Mbombela Stadium, TS Galaxy triumphed over the defending champions, Sundowns, with a score of 3-2, impacting Sundowns’ position in the title race. Parker pointed out that if Sundowns had emerged victorious, Cardoso would likely not have criticized their demanding schedule.
“No way that we won because Sundowns are fatigued; this is what football is about,” Parker said in an interview with SNAWA on Metro FM. He emphasized that top clubs like Real Madrid and FC Barcelona manage to compete at a high intensity across multiple tournaments, and questioned why Sundowns could not do the same.
Parker noted the importance of squad management, especially given TS Galaxy’s recent tight scheduling, with four games in just ten days. He highlighted the role of their DDC players who contributed to the win, and expressed his best wishes for Sundowns in their upcoming CAF Champions League final.
