Manchester United Prepares for Summer Transfer Window Under Michael Carrick

Manchester United is set to begin its summer transfer window following the appointment of Michael Carrick as the club’s permanent head coach for a two-year term.

Carrick, who will contribute to player recruitment this summer, appears to be closing in on his first signing with Atalanta midfielder Ederson.

The midfielder has agreed to personal terms with the Red Devils earlier this month and looks poised for a transfer after both parties reached a deal on Wednesday.

While Manchester United focuses on strengthening its midfield, the club is also assessing other positions.

With uncertainty surrounding Marcus Rashford following his loan stint at Barcelona, the team is exploring alternative wingers, including Said El Mala. Primarily a left winger, El Mala is also capable of playing as a striker and attacking midfielder.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Brentford has submitted a bid of €45 million for the 19-year-old, which consists of €40 million in fixed fees and €5 million in additional incentives.

El Mala has yet to agree to terms with Brentford, as he reportedly wishes for both clubs to negotiate before finalizing any deal.

Plettenberg also indicated that Koln is seeking €50 million for El Mala this summer, although it remains unclear if that fee is negotiable.

The young talent had an impressive season with Koln in the Bundesliga, netting 13 goals and assisting four. El Mala made significant contributions in the last four games of the season, showcasing his attacking capabilities.

With a bid already on the table, Manchester United faces a pivotal decision: either to challenge Brentford with a competing offer or to turn its focus toward other summer targets.

The outcome of this decision may play a crucial role in determining whether El Mala will make the move to Old Trafford.
