Tottenham Hotspur Eye Fiorentina Midfielder Nicolò Fagioli as Summer Target

Multiple Italian sources, including Corriere dello Sport, Nico Schira, and Firenze Viola, report that Tottenham Hotspur have identified Fiorentina midfielder Nicolò Fagioli (25) as a summer target. According to Give Me Sport, De Zerbi is super keen on the player.

Fiorentina’s stance is straightforward. Fagioli is seen as a key player after his first full season at the club, following his €13.5m move from Juventus. They are reluctant to sell but could struggle to reject a strong offer. Fiorentina’s sporting director (linked to Paratici connections) has reportedly set a high valuation — around €40m in some reports — describing it as a “mind-blowing” fee for them to accept.

Fagioli recently changed agents, which is often seen as a hint he could be open to a move. He’s an Italian international with good passing range, vision, and box-to-box ability.

One great quote is that Fagioli has been described as Juve’s `cornerstone’, by Pirlo.

“He knows how to do everything and is a cornerstone of Juve and has the qualities to excel in directing play. He could be the new Pirlo, but better remembered as Fagioli.”

This, of course, fits Tottenham’s pattern of looking at Serie A talent. However, as with most summer rumours at this stage, nothing is advanced or imminent; it’s early speculation, and any deal would depend on Tottenham’s Premier League status, budget, and Fiorentina’s willingness to negotiate.

Other clubs (e.g., Milan, Atlético) have been loosely mentioned in Italian media, but Tottenham appears among the most linked right now.

This could be a busy window

Tottenham, under Roberto De Zerbi, are expected to target midfield reinforcements this summer (2026), depending on Premier League survival and budget. The squad already includes players like Conor Gallagher, Joao Palhinha (loan-to-permanent option), Rodrigo Bentancur, Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, and potentially returning James Maddison/Dejan Kulusevski, with Yves Bissouma likely departing.

As things stand, the odds of Tottenham being relegated have lessened; however, it is not beyond the wit of the club to self-sabotage, as it has an occasional habit of doing.
