Jack Grealish Set for Key Career Talks with Manchester City Manager Enzo Maresca

Jack Grealish is preparing to engage in career discussions with incoming Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca after completing a season-long loan at Everton. These conversations could significantly impact David Moyes’s summer strategy. According to the Mirror, Maresca sees Grealish as a potential key player for Manchester City’s future. The 30-year-old is expected to return to the Etihad Campus this summer unless directed otherwise. This report, published on 26 May, marks a critical change in circumstances for Everton, who had hoped for a favorable resolution.

Everton’s Interest in Grealish Faces Challenges

Efforts to convert Grealish’s temporary stay at Everton into a permanent deal had been a focus for Hill Dickinson Stadium officials. They hoped to secure him for under the £50 million buy option included in the original loan agreement. New negotiations regarding the fee were reportedly in the works, with The Athletic indicating that Everton remained optimistic about finalizing a deal.

This optimism now appears shaky. Manchester City has informed Grealish that he is free to pursue options with other clubs, a scenario that initially played in favor of Everton. However, the arrival of Maresca alters the dynamics significantly.

Maresca previously collaborated with Grealish during their shared tenure at Manchester City. Footage from December showed the two sharing a warm embrace after Chelsea‘s match against Everton at Stamford Bridge, indicating a strong personal rapport between them.

Grealish’s current market value is estimated at approximately €25m, with reported earnings of £300,000 per week—figures that have complicated Everton’s ability to secure a permanent deal. He contributed two goals and six assists in 20 Premier League appearances before a stress fracture in his foot necessitated surgery and sidelined him for the remainder of the season.
