Final Day of Premier League Season Sees Title Settled and Predictions Unfold
The final day of the 2025/26 Premier League season is upon us. The title race is over, with Arsenal having been crowned champions, but there are still a few loose ends that need tying up.
Today, we’ll be taking on our friends at The4thOfficial in our predictions. As always, it is five points for a correct result and ten points for a correct score.
Brighton vs Manchester United
Essential Football: What a season Brighton have had under Fabian Hurzeler. With European football within their reach, expect them to give Manchester United a run for their money in this one.
Can they emerge victorious? United have nothing to play for on paper, but with Bruno Fernandes in the form of his life, they’ll make life difficult for the Seagulls.
EF’s Prediction: Brighton 2-2 Manchester United
The4thOfficial: The home side actually have plenty to play for on the final day of the campaign. A win for Brighton coupled with a loss for Bournemouth means that Hürzeler’s men could amazingly qualify for the Champions League having finished sixth if other results go their way.
So expect Brighton to be fully fired up at home with Man United not having much to play for in all honesty.
4thOfficial’s Prediction: Brighton 3-1 Manchester United
Burnley vs Wolves
Essential Football: If we decided to simply cancel this game and have neither side awarded any points, we don’t think either of the two sets of fans would complain much.
As a dead rubber as one can possibly achieve, both Burnley and Wolves were relegated to the Championship long ago. For us, this is a clear-cut 0-0.
EF’s Prediction: Burnley 0-0 Wolves
The4thOfficial: Surprisingly, Burnley have been really resilient since they have been relegated to the Championship.
With their final home game in the league (for at least a year), expect the Clarets to play freely and put on a show against their fellow relegated side. Going for a solid win for Burnley here.
4thOfficial’s Prediction: Burnley 3-1 Wolves
Crystal Palace vs Arsenal
Essential Football: Arsenal’s players may well be hungover after their wild title celebrations, but Crystal Palace likewise have nothing to play for – they also have the small matter of a European final on Wednesday.
Arsenal’s squad depth and overall quality is far greater than Palace’s, who will look to rest their key players. Arsenal also have the Champions League final to consider, but they’ll have a week to rest up, while the Eagles have just two days.
EF’s Prediction: Crystal Palace 0-3 Arsenal
The4thOfficial: As everyone and their dog knows, Palace have a European final three days after this game while Arsenal are the Premier League champions.
The players from North London might just have been partying for 72 hours straight and who can blame them? While Palace have bigger fish to fry just days later. Expect Arteta to let go of the handbrake and both sides going with a lot of changes with attacking football on offer.
4thOfficial’s Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-3 Arsenal
Fulham vs Newcastle United
Essential Football: Newcastle United have picked up a little in recent weeks, following an abysmal run of form, but one shouldn’t forget how strong Fulham have been at Craven Cottage.
It is hard to pick between the two in this one – the safe bet appears to be a low-scoring draw. We’ll say 1-1.
EF’s Prediction: Fulham 1-1 Newcastle United
The4thOfficial: A dead rubber. However, a chance for Newcastle to finish in the top half of the table despite what has been an abysmal campaign for Howe’s men.
Fulham will try to give their home fans something to cheer about but I suspect Newcastle will have too much for the Cottagers.
4thOfficial’s Prediction: Fulham 0-2 Newcastle United
Liverpool vs Brentford
Essential Football: What a miserable season this has been for Liverpool. In what was supposed to be Mohamed Salah’s grand send-off, he may instead be treated to a chorus of boos at full-time.
The Reds are all at sea as things stand. Brentford, on the other hand, are a strong away side – furthermore, a win for the Bees could see them qualify for the Europa Conference League.
EF’s Prediction: Liverpool 1-2 Brentford
The4thOfficial: Liverpool confirmed qualification to the Champions League when Man City scored that equalizer against Bournemouth on Tuesday.
There will be sense of relief around Anfield. Make no mistake. This Brentford side is a quality side and quite a physical one too. I expect a high scoring draw with both sides giving it their all.
4thOfficial’s Prediction: Liverpool 3-3 Brentford
Manchester City vs Aston Villa
Essential Football: Aston Villa are Europa League champions. After a lengthy trophy drought, the Villans have finally been able to dust the cobwebs off their silverware cabinet – but it won’t help them against Manchester City.
The Sky Blues, as disappointed as they might be, will at least want to end the season with a home win – Villa, on the other hand, will care very little about how this one turns out.
EF’s Prediction: Manchester City 3-1 Aston Villa
The4thOfficial: While theoretically not much to play for, this might very well be the last time we see Pep Guardiola as the Man City manager. Will he treat us to the famous Pep roulette one last time or will we see a full strength side?
My money is on the latter and definitely expect a strong performance from his side as a farewell gift to Pep. Aston Villa won the Europa League and are probably still partying right now. Fully expect them not to care much about this game and City to streamroll Villa.
4thOfficial’s Prediction: Manchester City 4-0 Aston Villa
Nottingham Forest vs Bournemouth
Essential Football: Bournemouth, under Andoni Iraola, have been utterly outstanding in 2025/26. One wonders how they will cope in his absence – for now, however, they can focus on securing European football.
Nottingham Forest might have beaten the drop, but there are still numerous issues within the squad. This could be an interesting game, but we’ll back the Cherries to edge it.
EF’s Prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-2 Bournemouth
The4thOfficial: What an opportunity for this group of Bournemouth players. And what better way to send off Iraola than to qualify for the Champions League?
A draw and they are through to the grandest stage in Europe (hopefully). I expect them to play with passion and with the handbrakes off. Nottingham Forest, again a side that has nothing to play for, surely can’t contend with the pace and power of this Bournemouth side.
4thOfficial’s Prediction: Nottingham Forest 0-2 Bournemouth
Sunderland vs Chelsea
Essential Football: Sunderland and Regis le Bris have led a magical campaign in the Premier League this season. Despite many tipping them to go down without much of a fight, they have shocked the world by not only surviving – but thriving.
Chelsea, on the other hand, have fallen way short of expectations. A win over Tottenham in their last game will have boosted their spirits somewhat – a 1-1 draw seems to be the most likely outcome.
EF’s Prediction: Sunderland 1-1 Chelsea
The4thOfficial: Who would have imagined that Sunderland will be safe at the start of this campaign? They are safe before the final matchday and so I expect Sunderland to be playing with a certain freedom.
With Chelsea getting Xabi Alonso in next season, there will be turnover and the players will be very careful not to get injured with the World Cup right around the corner. Sunderland for a smash and grab winner in front of their delirious fans.
4thOfficial’s Prediction: Sunderland 1-0 Chelsea
Tottenham Hotspur vs Everton
Essential Football: The £250 million game. Tottenham cannot afford to lose this one – thankfully for them, they’re unlikely to.
Not only are Everton bang out of form, they also have nothing left to play for. They may frustrate Spurs for a time, given Moyes’ safety-first approach, but we’ll back the Lilywhites to find the breakthrough eventually.
EF’s Prediction: Tottenham 2-0 Everton
The4thOfficial: Tottenham have won just 2 home games in the league this season. Just 2. So, will David Moyes do his former team a huge favour? This is probably the game I am most unsure about.
However, Everton have finished a nice cosy 12th and don’t really have much to play for. I expect Everton to go ahead only for Spurs to scrape a draw in the second half. The end of the game will be nervy with Spurs escaping relegation by the skin of their teeth.
4thOfficial’s Prediction: Tottenham 1-1 Everton
West Ham United vs Leeds United
Essential Football: West Ham United had an excellent chance to remain in the Premier League, but three defeats in a row has practically crippled the Hammers.
Leeds, meanwhile, are on an excellent run. Yes, they don’t have anything to play for, but it might not matter. West Ham have largely been abysmal this season, particularly at home.
EF’s Prediction: West Ham 1-2 Leeds United
The4thOfficial: Can West Ham script a miracle on the final day? If Spurs are to lose, then a win (any win) would see them escape relegation. There cannot be more of a motivation playing against Leeds at home.
Leeds are safe and are actually unbeaten in the last 8 games. So don’t expect this to be a walkover from this Leeds side under any circumstance. At home though, surely West Ham will pull through. Going for an ugly win for the Hammers.
4thOfficial’s Prediction: West Ham 1-0 Leeds United
