ITV Unveils Star-Studded Team for World Cup 2026 Coverage

The 2026 FIFA World Cup coverage is beginning to take shape ahead of the tournament in North America, with broadcasters assembling heavyweight punditry teams as anticipation builds for the June 11 kick-off.

With multiple networks now confirming their line-ups, attention has turned to the familiar voices and former players who will shape the coverage throughout the month-long competition.

Among the standout names confirmed for ITV’s broadcast team are three former Manchester United players who will play a central role in analysis and punditry.

ITV have confirmed, as relayed by The Sun, a star-studded World Cup 2026 coverage team featuring a number of high-profile ex-players, including several with strong links to Manchester United.

Manchester United legends join ITV World Cup team

The most notable United representation comes from Roy Keane, Gary Neville, and Juan Mata, all of whom will feature prominently in ITV’s tournament coverage.

Keane and Neville, already well known for their regular punditry work during Premier League broadcasts, are expected to bring their well-established on-screen dynamic to the World Cup stage once again.

Juan Mata, meanwhile, continues to build his post-elite European career in the A-League with Melbourne Victory, where he has enjoyed strong success and even swept multiple end-of-season awards following the 2025/26 campaign.

His inclusion adds a more recent playing perspective to ITV’s panel, alongside the more established broadcast voices of Keane and Neville.

They will be joined across the wider ITV team by a range of former internationals and managers, including Patrick Vieira, Ian Wright, Emma Hayes, and others, with coverage anchored by presenters Mark Pougatch and Laura Woods.

Commentary duties will be shared between familiar voices such as Sam Matterface and Jon Champion, while former players including Lee Dixon and Ally McCoist will provide co-commentary analysis.

FOX Sports have already confirmed their coverage team, which includes former United defender Danny Higginbotham, alongside global football names such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, as they prepare their US-based broadcast for the tournament.

BBC Sport have also revealed their own World Cup lineup, with Wayne Rooney joining their coverage team after stepping away from management and moving into punditry full-time.

Across the tournament, reporters will also be deployed on the ground in North America to provide updates from stadiums across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

With three former United players at the heart of ITV’s coverage, the Old Trafford influence will once again be strongly felt throughout one of football’s biggest global stages.
