In a recent episode of ‘Love All’, Clijsters shared her views on the friendship between Alcaraz and Sinner.
“Many people have talked to me about it,” she mentioned.
“It’s interesting to see a rivalry where they seem like good friends and respect each other.”
Clijsters noted that unlike other famous rivalries, where there is often tension off the court, Alcaraz and Sinner appear to genuinely enjoy being together.
She provided an example: “For instance, [Carlos] Alcaraz stayed to watch the winner, the player who just beat him, before diving into the pool.”
She acknowledged that opinions on their friendship vary. “Some people appreciate it, while others prefer a more traditional rivalry.”
Clijsters addresses potential challenges for Carlos Alcaraz
Clijsters believes Alcaraz is at a crucial stage in his career that could shape his future.
“With Alcaraz, there’s an intriguing phase where he’s not the new player achieving great results anymore,” she explained.
“I think Juan Carlos Ferrero mentioned in a recent interview that Alcaraz’s biggest challenge might be boredom.”
“It’s a long season filled with pressure, and it requires constant hard work, which can be tough, especially for someone as popular as him at every tournament.”
Alcaraz’s start to 2026 included victories at the Australian Open and Qatar Open, but he has not won any of his last four tournaments.
Sinner enters Roland-Garros as a strong contender this year, with the tournament starting on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
