Spain will begin their World Cup campaign without talented young midfielder Lamine Yamal. The 18-year-old player from Barcelona is unlikely to recover in time from a hamstring injury.
According to reports from The Athletic, Yamal is almost certain to miss the opening match against Cape Verde on June 15. Furthermore, there are concerns from the coaching staff that he might be unable to play in the second group stage match against Saudi Arabia, scheduled for June 21.
This season, Yamal has had a significant impact at Barcelona, participating in 45 matches, during which he scored 24 goals and provided 18 assists.
