Leeds United Secures Premier League Status and Signs Young Talent
Leeds United has successfully avoided relegation to the Championship after returning to the Premier League last summer. Their 14th-place finish guarantees their spot in the top flight for next season, even as the relegation battle intensifies, with Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham facing the possibility of dropping down.
In addition to their focus on retaining their Premier League status, Leeds, like Manchester United, is prioritizing midfield recruitment this summer. Key targets include Danilho Doekhi from Union Berlin, Tanner Tessmann from Lyon, and Jordan James from Leicester City.
Meanwhile, the club has already made a notable addition ahead of the summer transfer window, signing 12-year-old Teiarnie Moore to their women’s academy from Manchester United. The young central attacking midfielder and her development team shared the news on Instagram, showcasing a letter from Leeds United.
In her post, Moore expressed, “I started playing football when I was 7 years old, and ever since then I’ve worked hard to improve every part of my game.” She added, “After 5 years of hard work and dedication, I’m proud to announce that I’ve signed for the Leeds United U14s Academy. After attending trials at Leeds, I was offered a place in the academy when I turned 12. A dream come true and the start of a new journey. Can’t wait for what’s ahead!”
Although Teiarnie Moore will not be joining the women’s first squad for several years, her commitment to the Under-14s age group reflects Leeds United’s dedication to nurturing the future of their women’s team.
