Allan Freese has celebrated a significant victory since joining Magesi FC in February, as the team secured a stunning 5-2 win against Durban City at home. Mcedi Vandala stood out by scoring two goals, playing a crucial role in what many are calling a highlight of the season for the Seshego-based club.

This impressive victory has propelled Magesi FC up to the 14th position in the Betway Premiership standings, successfully moving them away from the bottom of the league table. Orbit College now occupies the last place, while Marumo Gallants finds themselves in the Relegation/Promotion Play-Off position.

The result was particularly surprising given that it came against Durban City, a team that reached the Nedbank Cup finals. Magesi’s success was reinforced by additional goals from Kgotatso Maiba, Lehlogonolo Mokone, and Godfrey Mashigo, raising questions about Durban City’s prospects for finishing in the top eight.

Durban City, who are currently positioned sixth, has struggled recently amid coaching changes, with interim coach Pitso Dladla failing to turn the team’s fortunes around. The opponents’ goals were scored by Jean Lwamba, who also netted a brace in the match.
