Marcus Rashford Thrives at FC Barcelona, Revitalizing His Career
Marcus Rashford is enjoying life at FC Barcelona and is reinventing himself out in Catalonia.
The 28-year-old is proving to be an important asset for the Blaugrana and is beginning to look revitalized.
With better goal contribution numbers than some of La Liga’s best, including Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappé, Rashford is achieving excellent things.
Marcus Rashford Happy in Barcelona
While the Englishman struggled to deliver during his recent stint at boyhood club Manchester United, he is thriving in Spain and has earned himself a spot back in the England setup.
“Rashford is happier than he has been for a long time,” according to BBC Sport columnist Guillem Balague.
“He plays with more freedom. The emotional distance that was read in England as indifference looks more like someone who has learned – through experience – that the world of football does not always look after you, even when by all measurements you are doing exceptionally well,” the Spanish journalist continued.
It’s shaping up to look like a permanent move this summer is going to be a good one for all parties, with Rashford excelling and learning at his new club.
But maybe a United return isn’t completely off the cards – and Rashford may be wanted back at Old Trafford if he keeps outdoing his Barcelona teammates like he currently is.
Numbers Defying the Likes of Mbappé
Rashford produces a direct goal contribution – a goal, assist, or penalty won – approximately every 92 minutes, according to Balague.
“His teammate Raphinha does likewise every 96 minutes – as does Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé. For Barca’s Lamine Yamal, it’s one every 102 minutes, while Real’s Vinicius Junior manages one every 143.”
With 23 goal contributions across 45 games, Rashford is proving to be a force to be reckoned with in Spain.
While not being the first name on the Barca team sheet, Rashford is working hard to prove himself – something he was often criticized for not doing at Manchester United.
If this redevelopment of his attitude and outlook towards football continues, maybe Marcus Rashford could find himself back at Old Trafford in 2026, something that has looked impossible in the past.
The club may be in for a winger in the summer. But they have one ready-made if it suits both parties.
