Philadelphia Union Remain Winless at Home After Draw Against Columbus Crew

Milan Iloski scored his fourth goal midway through the second half, but the Philadelphia Union again fell short of securing their first home win, settling for a 1-1 draw against the Columbus Crew on Saturday night in Chester, Pa.

Iloski’s goal equalized the match after Hugo Picard’s long-range strike gave the visitors the lead in the 10th minute.

Cavan Sullivan came closest to delivering a late winner for Philadelphia (1-9-4, 7 points), which continues to struggle at home with a record of 0-3-3 after finishing 12-1-4 there in 2025, culminating in a Supporters’ Shield title.

Goalkeeper Patrick Schulte made four saves for Columbus (3-7-4, 13 points), helping the Crew snap a three-match losing streak, despite being outshot 12-6 overall, including 5-2 in shots on target.

Philadelphia midfielder Jovan Lukic left the field at halftime due to an apparent injury, possibly related to the issue that sidelined him in the first half of a 4-3 loss at Orlando on Wednesday night.

Picard opened the scoring for Columbus in the 10th minute.

Andre Gomes delivered an outswinging free kick from the right corner of the penalty area. Union center back Olwethu Makhanya attempted to clear it but only managed to redirect it back to the edge of the penalty area on the left side.

Picard controlled the ball with his first touch and curled a shot into the top right corner, beyond goalkeeper Andre Blake’s reach.

Iloski brought Philadelphia level in the 70th minute with an opportunity set up by Agustin Anello.

The substitute received a pass from Ben Bender on the left, drove toward defender Rudy Camacho, and delivered a low cross that slipped between Camacho’s legs and into the 6-yard box.

Iloski finished with a one-time shot into an open goal before Schulte could readjust.

Sullivan had two promising late chances to finally end the Union’s home struggles.
