A dramatic scene unfolded during the World Cup match between France and Senegal, leading to outrage among the supporters of the African team.

Details: Early in the game, a significant referee error deprived Senegal of a prime scoring opportunity against Les Bleus. The incident occurred amidst a heated scramble in the French penalty area, where France defender Aurélien Tchouaméni inadvertently stepped on the foot of his own goalkeeper, Mike Maignan, causing the keeper to collapse in pain.

The match referee incorrectly assessed the situation, believing a Senegalese striker had committed a foul. He promptly blew his whistle in favor of Didier Deschamps’ team, despite Maignan being down and the French goal left unguarded. Senegalese or Ivorian attackers were positioned to take a shot at the open net, which would have provided them with a clear scoring chance had play not been halted.

As of the 10th minute, the score remained goalless.
