Tanzania’s U17 football team made history by becoming the first nation to qualify for the knockout stage of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations. This achievement came after a decisive 3-0 victory against Angola in Group C.

The young Taifa Stars showcased their strong form throughout the tournament and maintained their lead at the top of the group standings. Razaki Mbegelendi opened the scoring with an early goal in the first half.

After halftime, Hassan Kizinga doubled Tanzania’s lead, putting the team in a commanding position. The situation for Angola worsened when Osvaldo Costa received a red card in the 64th minute, allowing Tanzania to capitalize quickly, with Sadam Hamis netting the third goal just two minutes later.

With this victory, Tanzania has won both of its opening matches and now holds six points at the top of Group C.
