The Dynamo has signed 16-year-old Mattheo Dimareli from Houston as a homegrown player.

Dimareli, developed through the Dynamo Academy, has signed an MLS Next Pro contract lasting until June 2027. He will transition to the first team with an MLS contract in July 2027. His deal is guaranteed through the 2027-28 season, with options for three additional seasons until 2030-31.

He has participated in 48 matches for Dynamo 2 over the past three seasons, scoring seven goals and providing six assists.

“Mattheo is a talented young player who has shown his skills within our organization and internationally with the U.S. and Mexico,” said Dynamo president of soccer Pat Onstad. “Our aim is to offer valuable opportunities to young players in our Club, and Mattheo has effectively taken advantage of these opportunities, making a solid impression during training and in this year’s preseason.”

Dimareli can represent the U.S., Mexico, Greece, or Albania at the international level. He has played for the U.S. and Mexico in the U-15, U-16, and U-17 categories.
