Luka Vuskovic’s Market Value Soars Amid Successful Loan Spell
Luka Vuskovic has yet to make a competitive appearance for Tottenham Hotspur, but his market value has surged by £9.6 million in the last eight months. This significant increase highlights the 19-year-old Croatian’s growing status during his loan period at Hamburger SV.
According to Football London, Vuskovic’s current transfer value ranges from €42 million to €49 million, which translates to £36.3 million to £42.3 million, as per the CIES Football Observatory. Notably, this marks a substantial growth from last August, when he was valued at around €37.8 million, despite not having yet donned a Tottenham shirt in a competitive match.
Tottenham’s Investment in Luka Vuskovic Proves Fruitful
The upward trend in Vuskovic’s value is particularly striking given the circumstances. Tottenham finalized the deal to acquire Vuskovic from Hajduk Split in 2023 when he was just 16 years old. He officially joined Spurs last summer and was immediately loaned to Hamburg for first-team experience.
This decision has been fully justified by his impressive performances in the Bundesliga, where he has scored six goals across all competitions, attracting interest from clubs such as Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund. A knee contusion has affected the latter part of his loan, sidelining him for three weeks; however, Hamburg’s head coach, Merlin Polzin, has provided a positive update regarding his fitness. Vuskovic has returned to light training, with pain reportedly subsiding. He made his return to action as a late substitute in Hamburg’s 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt, marking his 28th appearance of the season.
Vuskovic is set to return to Tottenham this summer, as Hamburg does not hold an option to purchase him. The next steps for him will largely depend on the outcome of Tottenham’s relegation battle, with the club currently placed 18th, just two points away from safety with four matches left to play.
Additionally, the defender is eyeing this summer’s World Cup. He has already represented Croatia four times ahead of the tournament, and a solid performance on such a prominent stage would only further boost his already rising valuation, especially for a player who has yet to feature for his parent club.
