London’s Tottenham Hotspur has secured one of the summer’s most significant transfers in the Premier League by reaching an agreement with Brighton for the acquisition of Dutch center-back Jan Paul van Hecke.

Details: Renowned football insider Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal, stating that Spurs met the financial requirements put forth by Brighton efficiently. The transfer has been finalized in a record timeframe, with both clubs having signed the necessary documentation.

Manager Roberto De Zerbi prioritized the signing of a quality center-back this transfer window, and Tottenham’s actions have successfully aligned with his request. The transfer fee is reported to be an impressive £52 million, with the 26-year-old van Hecke having agreed to personal terms with Spurs last week.

During the current season, van Hecke made 40 appearances for Brighton in all competitions, scoring three goals and contributing three assists. Transfermarkt places the player’s market value at €45 million.
