Victor Wembanyama Reveals Support for Paris Saint-Germain Ahead of UEFA Champions League Final

Victor Wembanyama has made his allegiance clear ahead of the UEFA Champions League final, and his choice has not exactly been subtle.

The San Antonio Spurs star, who has often spoken about his love for football, was recently asked which team he would be backing in the biggest club match of the year.

Wemby’s response quickly made the rounds, not just for the answer itself, but for the way he delivered it. Because there was no hesitation, and definitely no neutrality.

Arsenal-remark”>Victor Wembanyama backs Paris Saint-Germain with blunt Arsenal remark

When asked about the final, Wembanyama responded in his usual candid fashion.

“Aww, come on. PSG, of course. At least, PSG gonna make it somewhat fun. Because I know Arsenal ain’t,” Wembanyama said.

The comment reflects more than just a casual preference. Wembanyama has long been a supporter of Paris Saint-Germain, having grown up in the Paris region and regularly followed the club even before his rise in basketball.

That connection has remained strong, with the French star often attending matches and openly backing PSG in major competitions, making his pick for the final feel entirely expected.

Still, the way he dismissed Arsenal added an extra layer to the conversation. Especially given what is at stake.

PSG vs Arsenal final sets up clash of styles and history

This year’s Champions League final will see PSG face Arsenal at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, with the French side aiming to defend their title while Arsenal look to secure their first-ever Champions League trophy.

PSG enter the match with attacking firepower led by players like Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, having scored heavily throughout the tournament and showcasing their ability to break games open in key moments.

Arsenal, on the other hand, have built their run on defensive discipline and structure, conceding just six goals in 14 matches while remaining unbeaten on their way to the final.

The contrast between PSG’s attacking approach and Arsenal’s defensive stability has become one of the defining narratives heading into the game, with analysts split on which style will ultimately prevail.

For Wembanyama, however, the decision has already been made, and he is expecting PSG to deliver the spectacle.
