El Hadji Malick Diouf Comments on Future Amid Transfer Speculation
El Hadji Malick Diouf is among the players linked with a move to Manchester United as the club seeks to bolster its squad. The left defender, currently with West Ham United, has made 28 appearances this season, contributing five assists as the team battles for survival.
The 21-year-old is expected to play for West Ham this weekend in a crucial match against Brentford, which holds significance for both teams in the standings.
As the match approaches, some fans may focus on Diouf’s future, considering scenarios in which West Ham survives or faces relegation.
Diouf addressed these rumors while preparing for the clash with Brentford and the upcoming conclusion of the season. Speaking to club media on the official West Ham United website, he said, “Right now we have to focus on ourselves, rather than the other teams, because we know that things are in our own hands and we can only control what we do out there on the pitch.”
“Last week, we didn’t know what was happening in the other games, and we knew that if we got a good result we would stay where we were. I think we played a good game, and of course it was a good comeback.
“It was a tough game, because Everton have really good players, and we were really happy. Since then the feeling has been really good, because we understand each other and we talk about everything.
“We are a family, and we need this at the moment. We know we have to keep improving, but we are all focused on keeping West Ham in the league and delivering for each other and for all of our supporters.
“It’s not going to be easy, and we have four finals to go, but we’re all working hard and concentrating on getting the right result in the next game.”
Despite his comments, Diouf did not address the possibility of a transfer to Old Trafford, likely fueling further speculation. As West Ham awaits its fate, questions from the media and supporters about potential moves are expected to rise. A relegation could increase the chances of a transfer, but Manchester United may pursue the defender regardless of the situation.
