Carlos Tevez Steps Down from Managerial Role at Club Atletico Talleres
Former Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez has officially left his managerial position. This announcement follows the club’s confirmation of his departure after the expiration of his contract.
The Argentine briefly took charge midway through last year, successfully guiding the team through a challenging period amid significant instability behind the scenes. Now, a new chapter is beginning.
According to the official statement released by Club Atletico Talleres, Tevez and his coaching staff have parted ways following the end of his current deal. The statement commended Tevez for his ‘institutional commitment, personality and work capacity’ during his time in charge. It also confirmed that the board has already initiated the search for a new manager.
Tevez initially joined the club before the start of the 2025 Clausura campaign after being appointed manager last summer, although his title was formally designated as technical director. He played a vital role in stabilizing performances during a difficult sporting period.
During the 2026 Apertura Tournament, his team secured 26 points and remained in contention for a potential return to international competition next season. Despite his transition into management, the former Manchester United forward continues to be a prominent figure in football news. Recently, FOX Sports announced the appointment of Tevez’s former Manchester United teammate Rio Ferdinand to a new role ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Ferdinand is set to join James Corden on a late-night tournament program. Meanwhile, Manchester United is preparing for life after Casemiro, as the 34-year-old confirmed he will depart the club at the end of the season following a strong finish to the campaign under interim manager Michael Carrick.
Carlos Tevez had a successful tenure as a player at Manchester United from 2007 to 2009, winning two Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League under Sir Alex Ferguson before making the controversial move to Manchester City.
